House, also called House M.D., is a popular TV series that debuted on the Fox network in November of 2004. It stars Dr. Gregory House, who is a quirky medical genius with a general disdain for the rest of humanity. It is set at a fictional institution, the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. The show was created by Paul Attanasio, while David Shore developed the main character of Dr. House. Dr. House often runs into conflict with his fellow doctors because a lot of his hypotheses about patient diagnosis are founded in controversial insights and his misanthropic nature leads to disputes of characters time and again. The good doctor's constant disregard of hospital rules and regulations leads to tension between him and his boss, Dr. Lisa Cuddy. The only character who is truly close to Dr. House is his only friend, Dr. James Wilson of the Oncology department.
During the first three seasons of this popular medical drama, Dr. House's team is made up of Dr. Robert Chase, Dr. Allison Cameron, and Dr. Eric Foreman. At the end of the third season, the team disbands and new members join the crew. Chase and Cameron continue to appear off and on, as other crew members evolve and one even dies. This array of personalities and quirks helps make up the appeal of this dynamic program. House is loved by many viewers of all ages and is currently in its eighth season.
